Keeping Music Alive In Our Schools

Michael set up the foundation in 1996 to support musical education in schools. He’d just scored a movie, Mr Holland’s Opus, about a fictional high school music teacher inspiring generations of kids.

Going back to his old school for an NBC interview, Michael had learned that access to music and musical education was increasingly threatened and sidelined.

By donating instruments to schools and providing support for music programmes the foundation enables children across America to learn and play together.

Over a quarter of a century later, Michael’s legacy is still going from strength to strength enriching lives through the perseverance and dedication of a dream team who make the music happen.
